The import of illegally logged timber to the European single market has been prohibited since the European Timber Trade Regulation (EUTR) entered into force in 2013. Importers are required to ensure compliance with the EUTR by the use of a documented due diligence system. This obligation poses enormous challenges for many companies. GD Holz Service GmbH offers consulting services relating to the EUTR for importers of timber and timber products.
GD Holz Service GmbH, a subsidiary of GD Holz, has been accredited by the EU Commission as a monitoring organisation (MO) within the sense of the EUTR since the end of January 2015. In addition to serving as an MO, GD Holz Service GmbH offers a rather more flexible EUTR consulting service. The content of the two consulting services differs only slightly.
The EUTR consulting service offered by GD Holz Service GmbH is available to both GD Holz members and non-members.
The monitoring organisation offers its services by accreditation solely to importers in Germany, Luxembourg and Austria. EUTR consulting, on the other hand, can theoretically be offered worldwide. Currently, more than 100 companies in Germany and other EU countries make use of the consulting services offered by GD Holz Service GmbH. Regular professional interaction with all relevant players in the EUTR area ensures that the due diligence system being offered is always up to date.
If you have any questions or are interested in the EUTR consulting services offered by GD Holz Service GmbH, we look forward to receiving your message at EUTR@gdholz.de.
